With his second child on its way, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to move in a lavish abode with wife Mira Rajput and daughter Misha in almost two years from now. The actor believes that with two children, the requirement of the family has changed and hence, he’s decided to shift from his “much smaller” home in Juhu.
According to a report in DNA, the new house is an invested the actor needed to make. He has been quoted as saying, “I have bought a new home in Central Mumbai. It will be a year-and-a-half, perhaps even two, before we do the interiors and move in there. However, it’s an investment that I needed to make. I have a much smaller home in Juhu and with two children (the second one arriving in September), the requirement of the family has changed.” The actor also shared that the new house has several other special attractions including a garden and gymnasium.
Shahid, who will next feature in Batti Gul Meter Chalu alongside Shraddha Kapoor, also shared that while earlier he’d always tell his estate agent that he wants a place with fewer neighbours and didn’t want “people gawking” at him and “not be waylaid by people”, he now have to make sure the house is also a perfect place for Misha’s growing up stage. He said, “Today, our requirement is having a safe place for Misha where she can play with others. We want her to be with kids of her age because that’s how she will have a regular childhood.”
He elaborated and said how he’d broke down most of his walls at his earlier pad in Andheri and the current one in Juhu making them completely open. “So, I had converted my 3BHK Andheri home in such a way that I had a massive bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe and the works. I was a bachelor then and my views on the subject were diametrically opposite to what they are now. Today, I want my children to have their own rooms. Obviously, Mira and my requirement is having a bigger space where the two of us can spend time.”
For the uninitiated, Shahid has bought a duplex at Worli for a whopping Rs 56 crore on the 42nd and 43rd floor in Tower B of the apartment complex named Three Sixty West. On the work front, Shahid’s next film revolves around a small-time lawyer, who goes after the local electricity board for its frauds and the frequent price rise in the electricity bills which costs him the life of his friend. The social drama has been directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
