Natural Ways To Remove Blackheads

Our skin has pores that contain hair follicles. Blackheads are basically clogged pores. These clogs are made up of dead skin cells and excess oil from your skin. While whiteheads are clogs in a closed pore, blackheads are clogs in an open pore. On oxidation, these pores turn black and form blackheads. Blackheads can appear on the face, neck, back, chest, arms, and even on the shoulders. Blackheads are a mild type of acne in which the acne lesion is not closed. Here are some natural ways to remove blackheads :

1. Honey And Milk

Honey And Milk are great for the skin. Honey is antibacterial, while the lactic acid in milk maintains soft skin. They can treat blackheads very quickly. Honey is one of the oldest natural remedies for skin infection and dry skin. It helps keep your skin hydrated and supple, thus preventing the clogging of pores with dry and dead skin cells.

2. Egg White

Egg white is a great way to get rid of blackheads. Egg white can help in tightening pores temporarily. This removes the blackheads you have now, and protects your skin against future problems. It doesn’t dry as much and has a lot of important nutrients. Eggs also contain vitamins A, D, and E which are excellent for skin health.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is well known for its moisturizing properties. Aloe vera also contains zinc that helps tighten pores and saponins that cleanse the skin. All of these properties can help to remove blackheads completely.

4. Lemon

Lemon is rich in vitamin C or ascorbic acid that exhibits moisturizing properties. This moisturizing effect can help eliminate dead and dry skin and prevent clogging of the pores in your skin, thereby getting rid of blackheads. It also increases collagen synthesis that helps tighten pores. Lemon juice is an astringent that shrinks the pores of the skin. It’s important to note though that lemon juice could cause your skin to be sensitive to sunlight.

5. Baking Soda

A baking soda scrub is a simple way to get rid of blackheads. The granules can take away the things that clog your pores. Add a few drops of water to baking soda; use gentle motions to scrub it in to the affected areas. Rinse off with warm water. Baking soda not only dries out blackheads but it also brightens the skin.

6. Tomato

Tomatoes are rich in bioactive compounds that exhibit antibacterial properties. This can help cleanse the pores in your skin and prevent the occurrence of blackheads. Mash the tomatoes to prepare a thick paste. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice to paste. Apply it to all the affected areas and leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash off with cold water.

7. Green Tea

Green tea has an great amount of antioxidants. It takes away oil and skin irritation, and provides protection for the skin. Green tea contains polyphenols that can help regulate the secretion of sebum in your skin. This can prevent your skin pores from getting clogged and causing blackheads. Green tea is also helpful against acne.

8. Turmeric

Turmeric contains curcumin that can help in cleansing the pores in your skin due to its antibacterial properties. This can help to minimize the  chances of re-occurrence of blackheads. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe skin and reduce pores. The antioxidants can also give skin a healthy glow. The addition of honey helps to clear the dirt from the pores and keep it from returning.
