A sore throat can be very uncomfortable. 1. Gargle With Salt Water

Gargling with warm salt water can help soothe a scratchy throat.The salt pulls the mucus out of your swollen, inflamed tissue and helps relieve the discomfort. Make a saltwater solution with a half-teaspoon of salt in a full glass of warm water. Gargle it to help reduce swelling and keep the throat clean.

2. Marshmallow Root

The marshmallow plant has been used to treat sore throats and other conditions since the Middle Ages. Marshmallow root contains a mucus-like substance that coats and soothes a sore throat. Simply add some of the dried root to a cup of boiling water to make tea.

3. Honey

7. Apple Cider Vinegar

Due to its acidic nature, it can be used to help break down mucus in the throat and stop bacteria from spreading. It may also loosen phlegm that may be irritating the throat. To help relieve throat pain, drink 1 cup of warm water mixed with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and an optional tablespoon of honey.
